Mobiqam helps to protect a bridge in Lokeren

The local police of Lokeren have used a temporary deployed Mobiqam unit to help confirm local authorities’ suspicions and to enforce tonnage limits to protect the town's bridge infrastructure.

Equipped with an Axis Communications camera, authorities were automatically informed when a vehicle was over the 7.5-ton limit violated the tonnage limit. Allowing fines to be issued with visual verification.

​Mobiqam is a fully autonomous rapid deployment platform that was temporarily tactfully placed for this purpose at the entrance to Oude-Bruglaan - a bridge that is crucial to the town's traffic flow.

While Mobiqam helped to recover its investment in record time, the primary goal was not to generate revenue but rather to confirm suspicions and generate awareness. The spokesperson for the local police stated that "the tonnage limit is there for a reason, and it's important that everyone respects it".

The use of Mobiqam is becoming increasingly popular in many towns and cities, as local authorities can, for example, monitor key areas, ensure compliance with regulations, and detect potential threats to infrastructures and population.
